Chia Jam & Berry Sauce

chia jam

  • 2 cups organic berries, fresh or frozen, thawed
  • 2 ½ Tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 tsp acai powder or lemon juice
  • 1-2 tsp raw honey, optional

chia berry sauce

  • 2 cups organic berries, fresh or frozen, thawed
  • 1 ½ Tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 tsp acai powder or lemon juice
  • 1-2 tsp raw honey, optional
  1. For either chia jam or sauce, use an immersion blender to puree the berries to a smooth consistency. The berry puree should measure 1 to 1 ¼ cups.
  2. Stir in the chia seeds and allow to sit for 30 minutes.
  3. Stir in the acai powder or lemon juice and taste. If the berries are too tart, consider adding a little honey.
Consider using the berry chia jam on Greek yogurt, in a smoothie, or on a slice of whole grain toast “buttered” with 1 tsp coconut oil.
