After Your Contact Lens Fitting
Having just completed your contact lens fitting today, we will order your lenses. When your lenses come in (usually less than a week) we will call you to schedule an appointment for you to learn how to put your lenses on, take them off and to care for them.
That private visit with our contact lens technician will take about an hour and a half. Until that appointment, we will give you some artificial tears to simulate contact lenses, from the films and items that you have read you should basically understand how to put on the lenses. To review, wash your hands well, put a drop of artificial tears on your finger, hold your lids open and practice putting a drop in each of your eyes ten times each day. This will help you get used to the idea of touching your eye. You will have periodic contact lens checkups and these will be made in advance. These scheduled appointments are good appointments, if all is progressing normally then wait for that time.
If you have any questions or concerns prior to that time, please do not hesitate to call, we will either answer your questions over the phone or have you come in sooner. Good quality, non-prescription sunglasses are extremely important with your contact lenses. They protect you from the sun, dust and wind, as you might become more sensitive. Quality sunglasses are available here. Please browse at our sunglass display, today or if you arrive early for your contact lens insertion and removal visit. Also note that included in your 3 month fitting is a service policy, which reduces the cost of spare pairs of contacts, replacements, different color lenses, solutions and 50% off non-rx sunglasses.
Sincerely,
Dr. Baron and Staff
