CLEAN & DISINFECT EXTENDED WEAR

FreshLens System CONTACT LENSES

Q: If I wear my FreshLens System contact lenses extended wear and I want to take them out for a night during the week, what should I do and why?

A: You must clean and disinfect with OPTI-FREE Express. Otherwise you are taking a dirty contaminated lens from your eye and putting it in a “incubator” (your case). It is dark, warm and moist, and you will grow bacteria and viruses. So always clean and disinfect.

If you have any questions about the use of OPTI-FREE Express, please do not hesitate to ask us.

Q: What solutions should I use with my FreshLens System Contact Lenses?

A: For most of our soft contact lens wearers, we recommend using the Clear Care cleaning & disinfecting system and Aerosol Saline. Most of the other contact lens systems on the market contain some type of preservatives. Over time, preservatives can accumulate in your lenses and irritate your eyes. The Clear Care system and Aerosol Saline is unique in that it is an excellent cleaning and disinfecting system without containing any preservatives.

Our FreshLens System contact lens wearers may use other systems than the Clear Care system because the lenses are disposed of before the preservatives have time to accumulate in the lenses.

The cleaning and disinfecting system that we recommend for our FreshLens System contact lens patients is OPTI-FREE Express by Alcon. OPTI-FREE Express has a multi-purpose solution for rinsing, disinfecting, and storage; therefore, it does not require the use of a saline solution. And also use the OPTI-FREE Express daily cleaner and re-wetting drops. If you find that OPTI-FREE Express and you do not agree, then use Clear Care.
