This is one of only a few in the UnitedStates. It helps us determine how well the infant can see. This is a very important test to help rule out amblyopia. This is one of the most important tests in examining infants.
Diagnostic Testing Room
We have recently upgraded our digital imaging system to a state of the art system. This can take pictures/images of the exterior and the interior of a patients eye. This enables the patient to see THEIR OWN eyes and we can review together. It enables us to have a great baseline of information and to be able to do something totally new, see any subtle changes over time! By laying images one on top of another year after year. This will enable us to prevent problems, potentially before they become issues. Like grows on the front of the eyes, blood pressure problems, and high cholesterol to name a few.
Visual fields instrument. This enables us to study patient's side or peripheral vision. This technology enables us to see behind the eye to determine the pathway of the optic nerve. Glaucoma, brain tumors, head injuries, macular degeneration, strokes, to name a few can be tested for and diagnosed with this non evasive test. This state of the art instrument will soon be connected to our Electronic Medical Records.
